Repair Policy
Service Work Order
Customer Service and Repair Agreement
SWO (Service Work Order) Policy Warranty – All products returned to Trimble for service are evaluated for warranty status. The technical support technician can usually tell you the warranty status of your product at the time that the SWO is issued. There may be cases when a Proof of Purchase is required. You may be requested to attach a copy of your Proof of Purchase to the SWO Return form when you ship the product to Trimble. Products covered under warranty are repaired and returned without expectation of consultation with the customer. Shipping – Warranty products are shipped via UPS 3 rd day delivery unless you request and pay for upgraded shipping.
Non-Warranty – There is a $100 minimum service charge for non-warranty repairs to handheld computers. A Service Coordinator will contact you promptly with the repair estimate. A method of payment must be established before repair work can begin. All chargeable repairs require customer approval within 45 days of receiving notice of the estimate. Units on which work has not been approved within 45 days of notification will become property of Trimble and will be subject to disposal. If repairs are declined the $100 minimum service charge still applies.
Shipping – Payment for shipping of non-warranty products is the responsibility of the customer. Non-warranty products are shipped via UPS Ground unless you request and pay for upgraded shipping.
Upgrades – Unless otherwise requested, software will be updated to the latest non-chargeable versions of operating system and Trimble software application. The update to the most current version of the Trimble software you currently own is done free of charge.
Customer Data – All recoverable Trimble software application data can be emailed to the customer or restored to the handheld computer upon customer request. See the SWO Product Return form to indicate your request. Third party software applications and data are the responsibility of the customer. Warranty for Repair Work – Units repaired by Trimble are returned to the customer with a 90-day guarantee on workmanship and serviced parts. The 90-day period begins when the repaired unit leaves Trimble. Any unit which exhibits recurring or persistent failures will be rebuilt or replaced at Trimble's discretion. Declining repairs may void the 90 day repair warranty. |
